Scythe Kozuti Low Profile CPU Cooler, SCKZT-1000

If space is limited and you need a quiet, low profile CPU cooler then the Kozuti could be it!

The Kozuti stands just 40mm tall which makes it an ideal CPU cooler where space is limited. Scythe have achieved this low height by placing the fan underneath the heatsink fins instead of on the top. This obviously reduces the height of the cooler but does not affect its performance.

Features

  1. Low profile cooler, only 40mm tall!
  2. Very quiet 4-pin PWM fan, from only 8.2 dBA
  3. Stealth fan mounting structure (SFMS)
  4. Three oval-shaped heatpipes for quick heat transfer
  5. Compatible with Intel LGA1366/1155/1156/775 and AMD FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2

To generate airflow, Scythe have opted for a PWM 80 x 80 x 10mm fan, which also contributes to keeping down the height of the cooler. The fan produces enough airflow for it to be able to cool CPUs that have a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 95W, but if you want to keep things as quiet as possible, Scythe recommends the Kozuti for CPUs that generate a maximum of 65W.

Reviews

  • Tom’s Hardware

“Scythe’s Kozuti is the only thermal solution that can be installed in four different orientations, even on AMD motherboards... and it’s the top performer among the low-profile coolers. Although the Kozuti achieves solid performance at the cost of high fan speeds and corresponding noise levels, it can also run very quietly at idle thanks to a wide RPM range.”

  • SilentPCReview.com

“The Scythe Kozuti is an impressive little heatsink that performs better than we could’ve imagined. It managed to keep our X4 630 test processor adequately cool even with its fan slowed down to close to an inaudible level. The Kozuti even beat out budget coolers like the Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 and AMD stock heatpipe coolers despite a significant size disadvantage.”

Good cooling performance but RAM clearance may be an issue

,

This fan is very quiet and cools well within the context that I use it for (i3 7100T: max 35W TDP). Easily mounted onto main board.

On my Asus B250M-A, the nearest RAM socket looks to foul the heat pipe ends when using Kingston HyperX Fury RAM. Turning the cooler through 90 degrees may eliminate the problem but I have not checked and clearance will still be very tight. Not an issue for me with the limited RAM I need for my application. May not be an issue when using plain RAM without the casing - haven’t verified this either way.

I’d recommend stumping up the extra for the slightly smaller Noctua NH-L9i (which I also use in another machine) in preference to this item provided that it meets your heat dissipation requirements. Far better warranty too.

“Exceptionally Amazing Company.”

“I am very impressed with Quiet PC. I’ve recently moved from a Mac to a PC and I opted for Quiet PC because of their reputation and the fact that quietness was a priority for my system.

First off- the staff are extremely nice to deal with and they’re very genuinely helpful. The gentleman called Andy actually saved me money from my build by showing me that some of my items were not needed. I was impressed with this as obviously many companies are all about the buck and little else. The PC is indeed very quiet living up the name from my brief use of thus far. I was previously using an iMac with which I did a lot of work with big image files in Lightroom. Whilst the Mac was a bit quieter under no load compared to the PC, the latter however was MUCH quieter when under heavy load. The Ryzen 3700x PC also runs much smoother with little lag when doing the sort of work which brought my iMac to a standstill and kicked off the bouncing ball of eternal doom that some Mac users are familiar with. All in all this Quiet PC build is a big step up from my 2015 fully maxed out 5k i7 iMac.

What I was also very impressed with was how the dealt with an issue with a faulty graphics card. They were right on the ball with telephone support and getting it sorted. I think that’s extremely important factor in assessing how good a company is as obviously some companies are great at sales but lacking in after sales.

I can honestly say that Quiet PC are up there with the best companies that I’ve used in every single manner. It’s on this note that I highly recommend without reservation!h”
