The Akasa AK-ICR-33 is a compact multi-format card reader which can be installed into a 3.5” drive bay. It comes equipped with front USB 3.1 gen2 Type-C and a USB 3.0 Type-A ports connected directly to the motherboard for very fast data transfer speeds.

Motherboard Compatibility Considerations

The Akasa AK-ICR-33 uses two cables which need to be connected to the motherboard. The first cable is a USB 3.1 Type-C connector, this obviously drives the front Type-C port. The second cable is a standard USB3.0 internal connector, this drives the USB 3.0 Type-A port and the card reader. Most, if not all new motherboards have at least one suitable USB 3.0 connector however these are normally used to attach USB 3 ports from the front/top of your PC case. Before ordering, please check that you have the required motherboard ports available to connect the two USB cables.
